Freezing, Food, and Fun!

Today was the first for adventure. I got up early and had a freezing cold shower because apparently there was a problem with the water. There's almost nothing I hate more than a cold shower so it was a crummy start to the day but no worries because it is fixed now :) So then we went out to find a grocery store. Above is Rebekah with our grocery cart with our food that we hauled around the streets of Georgetown. It was so wonderful to find a grocery store with food! One, because I had no food and two, because it made me feel more comfortable and normal. Plus, on the way to the grocery store there were adorable, picturesque apartments. I didn't have my camera so I don't have pictures but I promise I will take some later. Did you know that plastic bags cost $.05 here? Yep, so I definitely bought the bags I can reuse.

So then we were off to a day of touring in the windy winter weather. I took Rebekah around the mall and the Washington monument and Lincoln Memorial. There was a wind advisory today which means there could be gusts of wind up to 45 mph. Lets just say I've never been so cold in my life and it took me about two hours to warm up. It was worth it though. There's just a majesty about the memorials that can't be grasped enough. We had our first ride on the subway which was great. I love navigating the city, it's a lot of fun. There's a picture above with me standing in front of a circular building. That is where I will be working. It is convienently placed next to a subway stop and right in the heart of the mall. It is so amazing here and it still feels like a dream! Everyone that I have met is great and so friendly. I can't wait to get to know them better. So what started as a hard day turned out to be great!
